Can I organise a Dîner en Blanc in my city?

Faced with numerous requests to organize Dîner en Blanc™ in various cities of the world, the Dîner en Blanc International team has set up an exclusive service that supports organizers worldwide in the creation and management of such an event. We offer turnkey services that would allow any interested party to create a Dîner en Blanc™ event in their own city and associate it to the worldwide community. The Dîner en Blanc International started offering this service in 2012 in 18 cities around the world. In 2015 we have licensed over 65 cities worldwide into the Dîner en Blanc™ network. If you wish to Host a Dîner en Blanc in your city, don't hesitate to contact us by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of this page. We will be happy to assist you.

I have seen that many of your events worldwide are associated with certain brands, is there a possibility for sponsorship opportunities?

Dîner en Blanc International prides itself on being associated with some of the most exciting and elegant brands worldwide, however this event is first and foremost a dinner amongst friends and is not intended to be an event overly saturated with brand and marketing opportunities.

How many Dîner en Blanc events are there in the world?

Diner en Blanc is now a truly global phenomenon with over 65 events scheduled, across 16 countries with a total of one hundred thousand members participating each year. With over 65 cities : Paris, London, Barcelona, Milano, Stockholm, Abidjan, Kigali, Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Okanagan Valley Quebec City, New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Atlantic City, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Singapore, Mexico City, Brisbane, Canberra and of course... Sydney, we still have great new locations joining the network for 2016! The largest and most internationally recognized Dîner en Blanc, is the original event in Paris. Instigated over 28 years ago by François Pasquier and his close friends, it attracts today almost 15,000 people yearly. The second largest event is based in Montreal, Canada with 5,500 guests.

Is it an illegal activity?

Yes it is legal. To ensure the safety of our International Diner en Blanc guests, we require that the local hosts have the proper authorization, permits and insurances before proceeding with their event. Le Dîner en Blanc - Paris is held on the most prestigious sites of the city, without authorization. The first editions were not easy to put in place. Today, the French authorities know the organization and know that it’s always well controlled. Moreover, the event’s photogenic quality adds to the city’s image of a modern and stylish city, open to the world.

Is the Dîner en Blanc associated with a humanitarian or social cause?

What makes the Dîner en Blanc so popular is that it’s a “distinct” evening. There are no political or ideological agendas and very minimal branding. Le Dîner en Blanc is simply a friendly gathering whose sole purpose is to create a magical evening, where guests are in good company, and in an environment which is both unusual and extraordinary.

Can I use the Dîner en Blanc concept to support a local humanitarian or social cause?

What makes the Dîner en Blanc so popular is that it’s a “distinct” evening. There are no political or ideological agendas and very minimal branding. Le Dîner en Blanc is simply a friendly gathering whose sole purpose is to create a magical evening, where guests are in good company, and in an environment which is both unusual and extraordinary.

Why is the option to rent tables and chairs not available this year?

In Paris, guests have always brought their own table and chairs and it’s much simpler that way. They thus play a bigger role and, in a way, they too become organisers of the festivity. In line with Diner en Blanc’s heritage, we ask all of our guests to embrace the participative nature of Diner en Blanc and travel to the secret venue with their picnic needs, including their furniture. There are a lot of creative ways to bring it all to the venue; please see our Facebook page for inspiration, i.e. trolleys and other wheels solutions. As well, we would like to keep the same friends over several years and their table will in this way become cost-effective.

Why is glass prohibited this year?

We have been asked by the City of Sydney and Sydney Police to request our guests bring shatterproof wine glassware, preferably made of polycarbonate. This is specifically to avoid potential accidents and littering of broken glass.
